Building Options Settings and Information

Visible

The Visible setting determines whether the item is Visible or Hidden. Visibility can be controlled in a variety of ways.

Lock

Locked Building Options protect the items belonging to that group from being moved, changed, or deleted.

Note that if Lock Invisible Options is activated the Lock settings column is hidden within Building Options.

Fade

Fading makes the items within the BO appear lighter and washed out.

Use Item(s) Color

If checked then the items within the BO appear in their normal screen color.

If Unchecked then the items within the BO appear in the color selected in the Color option.

Color

Select a color for items to appear when Use Item(s) Color is unchecked.

Pen

Select a Pen setting for all items within the BO to print. Leaving this option set to Default does not make any changes to the Pen settings and the items will print using their normal Pen settings.

Number of Items in Model

The total number of items contained in the entire Model. The "Model" is all files placed within the Model section on the Navigation Pane.

This is useful in determining if there are any objects assigned to Building Options within the current Model. Each BO will list the total number of items that are assigned that BO.

Number of Items in Drawing

The total number of items contained in the currently selected Drawing. This does not include items from any other Drawing.

Comment

A place to make comments about a Building Option.

Lock Invisible Options

This setting can be found at the bottom of both the System Building Options and the current Project Building Options.

When this item is checked then all Building Options that are not set to be Visible will be automatically Locked and cannot be modified, moved, or deleted.

It is recommended that Lock Invisible Options always be checked in order to prevent accidental modifications to items on hidden Building Options.
