saving to a previous version
SoftPlan Version:
2018

softplan 2018 is now running on my computer. however some of the computers in my office are still running on 2016. i tried to changed the default program to open drawings in 2016 but windows doesnt seem to allow this. can anyone tell me a better way? the 2016 users can not open the 2018 saved drawings.

The best way to avoid problems is to always open SoftPlan projects from within SoftPlan rather than clicking on a file name from Windows Explorer. However, you can change the default program to use. Just right click a project name and select Properties. Next to where it says Open with select Change. Click More Apps. Browse to bottom and select Look for another App on this PC. Browse to your 2016 folder and select SoftPlan.exe.

the problem seems to be that

the problem seems to be that 2018 and 2016 both use the same softplan.exe file. i am opening up the drawings in softplan now however i didnt do it that way in the past so sometimes if forget. i wish there was a way to save in a previous version. im new to softplan (and like its capabilities) but i know autocad could do that. thank you for the help.

softplan.exe

Each version has its own main folder and its own files. There will be separate folders for 2016 and 2018 and each version will have its own softplan.exe.
