Wall Framing....
SoftPlan Version:
2016 Plus

Hi Folks......

I'm trying to help a friend with an "as built" circumstance. They bought a house with a unrecognized sun-room addition. The city needs a drawing with the current conditions. Well.....the corners are very narrow. I need to slide one window closer to the corner than SP will allow. I tried resizing the framing members as well as simply deleting one, also reframing the corner. SP won't let met get closer than 3 1/2" to the corner. Does anyone have a work-around ?

Also.....I saw in a recent post ..... SP can export to SketchUp without problems. I have been using version 6 to get around this. Am I missing something more streamlined ?

Once again, thanks for the great resource.

To get the window closer to the corner just dimension the window and edit the dimension to move the window.

To export to Sketchup just open a 3D view such as Textured. Then select File⇒SoftPlan+ Publish⇒Export Sketchup Model

Hi Bill......

Hi Bill......

Thank you, yet again. I had no idea about the SP to SU facilitator in the file menu....I've  been opening DWG/DXF drawings in very early SU versions converting them to SU files for later versions....etc...... forever. I tried a Soft View render and it opened without a hitch. The dimension, edit, strategy worked flawlessly

as well.

All of which begs the question:  How do you know all this stuff......?

Thanks again....
