Symbols Moving in Plan Sets
SoftPlan Version:
2016 Plus

Afternoon, folks! I'm hoping someone else has run across this before and it's a simple fix. I've noticed for quite some time now that the majority of symbols appear to "shift" a bit when a drawing is added to a plan set. For instance, shutter symbols appear exactly where they should in the drawing itself, but when the elevation is added to a page within a plan set, on the page they appear to move up and over a few inches from where they are on the drawing. Exploding the symbols back to line work allows them to show up properly in the plan sets, but of course defeats the purpose of symbols...  If anyone has a helpful tip, it would be greatly appreciated!

Symbols

That is just bizarro. Does the shift appear just on screen or does it also appear on printed drawings? If just on screen I would look at some sort of video driver anomaly.

Looking at the .SPD file, it

Looking at the .SPD file, it always appears correctly both on screen and when printed. The shift only appears on the Plan Set sheets. While the .SPD file is showing it correctly, the Plan Set sheet shows the symbols shifted both on screen and when printed. Also, it appears the amount of shift may be proportional to the size of the symbol. For instance, a shutter shifts about an inch or two. But I have created symbols for our plan footprints to perform quick lot fit checks, and those shift by a couple of feet. I have included a screenshot of my view of an .SPD file with a footprint symbol loaded, as well as screenshot of that same drawing added to a plan set sheet. I had one of my co-workers perform a similar test using a different project, on her machine with a brand new, clean SP install, and the behavior is identical. Very curious!
