Saving Custom Speed Notes
SoftPlan Version:
2014 Plus

How does, or where can I find, how one could save a Custom Speed Note. There must be that capability as they give you the option (mines just empty). But I think this would be a great spot to put General Notes/Construction Notes. And can you add a number to them for quick plotting??

You create a speed note just

You create a speed note just like you do for a symbol. Go to system options-system library-select speed notes under type-choose where you want to put it than one step and outline your note.

I have been trying for a while here to do this. Sounds easy enough but I keep getting an error ATTENTION Box that says "There are no NOTES in this area." Not sure the issue I've tried it in both MODEL and FLOOR PLAN drawings.

Creating a Speed Note
  1. Create a note using the normal Notes-->Overview Note or Notes-->Detail Note
  2. Select File-->System Options-->System Library
  3. From the Library Type select Speed Notes
  4. Select a Library where you want to place the Speed Note.
  5. Select One Step
  6. Draw a box around the note you created in step 1
  7. At the Add Attributes dialog select OK
  8. Edit the name if desired and then select OK

I can't get to Step#7 as I

I can't get to Step#7 as I still get the 'Attention' Box. Could I have a setting off or something. This seems rather simple and I can follow instruction...lol but I've been at this for too long and all I want to do is create my own notes to use....whine whine whine....lol I try to explain in other posts what processes worked and how I may have went wrong so others don't do the same. But this seems so simple...:(

Bigger box

Try drawing a bigger box around the note. It sounds like you are trying to get the box tightly around the note and are not catching the full extents of the note.

ARE KIDDING ME!!That's exactly what the issue was Bill. Who would have thought that one could be to too close to the words...even though they are within the box...what a big waste of time. Thanks so much Bill and all for all your help. MAKE THE BOX BIGGER...really...lol

Notes

Yes, notes have an "aura", for lack of a better word, around them that is part of the note. This allows a little space around the note when you place it in a painted area and then do a cleanup of the paint. If you try to draw your box inside this area around the text then you are not catching the entire text.

Spped notes

Is it possible that your on an assembled drawing (example multi-drawings) and your note isn't on the active layer?

Speed notes

Also, when you mention in your original post that yours are empty, do you mean that when you click on speed notes it's empty? If so, it's not installed properly.

No I meant the Custom Folder

No I meant the Custom Folder and I am in Floor Plan Drawing. I've sent a ticket because I'm so frustrated. But that's another story being on Satelite and having to upload 29 files it takes 30mins...it would be nice to just have a capture screen option then have to have all files upload every time you create a ticket...I'm venting now...lol
