Hello,

I am trying to roof a house with multiple wall heights on the same floor. The front of the house has a 14' wall (center of gable) with a large window and a gabled roof over the wall. The rest of the house is 9' wall. How do I add a gable just over this section at the correct height?

Can't see on the image since it's only face on but you need a return wall on each sides of your 14' high wall. The top of those will line up with the 14' wall and the bottom offset to line up with the top of the 9' walls or fit to roof depending on the construction required. Then you can use the trace roof option to add the roof on that section that will intersect the main roof. You'll then need to cut a hole in the main roof.

Thanks for the help. I was

Thanks for the help. I was hoping to just clear a couple things though. Are you saying that I need to draw new wall sections on top of the existing, or to make the existing taller to become the returns?

No, I meant that you need the return walls shown in red on the roof plan. Note the labeling that identifies 8'-1" walls for the main house, 14'-0" for the front wall and multi-height for the return walls because the top is straight line-up with the top of the 14'-0" high wall and the bottom of wall set to Rake Bottom>Fit to Roof. The return walls don't show up on the floor plan because they are set to hidden and also because my setting for Visible Items has teh box unchecked for Show Non-printable Items. You can check the box to have the walls visible but dotted on the floor plan. These walls won't print.
