Removing lambs leg inside of gable
SoftPlan Version:
2014 Plus

I had to change this roof to a shed off the back of this home.  It leaves a lamb's leg inside.  Is there a way to get rid of it?  I have tried but failed.  Thanks.

Roof

I'd get rid of the shed roof. Then use "Add Roof Edge" and trace around the area where the shed was in order to add that area to the main roof. Finally I would change the new portion to a double hip and adjust as needed.

Or you could try using Trace Hole to cut out the part of the roof you don't want.

Bill is "Add Roof Edge" the

Bill is "Add Roof Edge" the same as "Add Roof"?  When I had tried "Add Roof" it selected walls and I can't trace with that command.

Edit:  Never mind, found the edge command.

I will try cutting out the part I want removed.

Thanks.

Add Roof Edges

Bill, see the tutorial Not So Obvious Uses For Edit Tools for an explanation on how to use Add Roof Edge.

Well Bill I kept playing with

Well Bill I kept playing with the roof and got rid of the shed on the lower back corner altogether.  Not why this configuration was never calculated until this morning when I started over.  Still have sheds on the upper floor areas though.  If my front and back upper floor areas where the same width I could change that as well.  Now I need to find the thread about filling areas like in the second picture.

Gable ends

Gable End Provided By Roof doesn't deal with it? Otherwise, you can draw a hidden wall on top of the ground floor walls and make those fit to roof.

I actually have Gable end

I actually have Gable end checked but it doesn't carry all the way down.  It's possibly due to most of the wall being provided by the upper floor walls.  Thanks for the suggestion on the hidden wall, I'll give that a try.
