Paint at door openings
SoftPlan Version:
2014

Usually, when you draw a paint, it goes thru the door on floor plans but when your in tight areas and the box that forms around your notes overlaps the door and other items, it creates basically a paint break. Is there a way to avoid this without having to tweak everything or drawing a 2nd paint?

Nope

Unfortunately there isn't any way to avoid that situation. You just have to move things around a little or change the door swing to allow the paint to pass if you don't want to add paint on both sides of the door. Sometimes you can zoom in closer on the area and regenerate the paint and it will work but not always.

Text box

I too find this irritating as it doesn't just happen with paint. I have made a suggestion to Softplan to reduce the "box", the invisible boundary around text, so that it is just outside the actual text. There really isn't any reason it has to be so far out from the text. Tech support's response to me was to just make the text smaller or move other things around. Situations such as yours are exactly why that doesn't always work and I want it to look the way I want it to look. Maybe you can have better luck with sending in your suggestion than I did. The response I got back was a rather uncaring attitude.

Text box

I agree and made a suggestion in the pass because I also find it to big and it caused me some problems in the past when I had to incorporate notes in symbols. I would try to dimension to the symbol but was actually dimensioning to the outside of the text box. So now, if I have to incorporate a note close to the edge, I have to set the box outline as visible so I can position the text box inside the symbol's edges and then turn it off before creating the symbol.

I'll definitely send a suggestion again.
