PDF Export Option
SoftPlan Version:
14

Hi,

For some reason my option to convert my drawings to a PDF file is missing.

I have attached what I see when I drop down my side menu bar. There is no longer an export to PDF option.

How do I get this back?

Thanks,

Katia

There are 3 ways to create PDF's in SoftPlan

1) If you are using Plan Sets you can right click the name of the Plan Set and select Export to PDF.

2) If you have reView, which can be purchased separately or it comes with SoftPlan +, you can select Export from within File-->reView

3) If you have a PDF print driver installed you can print using the PDF driver

Hi Bill,

Hi Bill,

Thank you for the feedback.

I used to have a separate "export to PDF" button or option in that drop down from the home button (refer to screenshot I uploaded in previous message). I didn't need to have a plan set created, I could access this feature just from my drawing page. What would have caused it to suddenly disappear?

As well, it is not appearing in my plan set as an option either anymore. I have uploaded a screen shot of this as well.

Interesting. I have never seen anything like that happen. I don't have 2014 installed but looking in the 2016 SoftPlan folder I see a file named QuickPDF64DLL0816.dll that I assume is the library that generates the PDF files. I would look and see if that file, or a similarly named file, exists in your SoftPlan folder. It is possible that your virus software decided that file was a virus and either deleted it or moved it to a quarantine folder. I I would contact SoftPlan tech support and see what they say about it as well.

Thanks!

If your edit your toolbar you

If your edit your toolbar you can add a export to PDF button to it with out having the Review option.

The company I used to work for was using ver.2014 without Review and it annoyed the heck out out me every time I had to print to a .PDF file then I discovered that I could add the .PDF button and the .PDF batch file buttons to the toolbar.
