Mirroring the model
SoftPlan Version:
2016 Plus

I have a completed project that a client wants to see mirrored. The entire building. I know how to mirror objects, but when i try to mirror each floor plan and then build the model, it explodes. Is there a way to do this that doesn't require me to completely redraw the project?

Reverse

Don't use Mirror. Instead use Reverse. Select Reverse, draw a box several feet outside of the plan to completely encompass the entire drawing. Drawing the box a ways outside assures that you catch things on other modes that might not be visible in the current mode. Also make sure that "Visible Only" is not toggled on.

Reversing

Just be careful to verify your combined openings that you will have to modify because it will not reverse like a single door. Always found this to be a pain and a cause of errors. It will reverse in your elevation but not on the floor plan.

My suggestions to Softplan if it's critical for Softlist was;

"The door symbols could be improved and simplified at the same time. You should be able to create an opening symbol and call it as per the side that it is drawn (ex. 125-36 R) and have the secondary name (125-36 L) for the mirror image. This way, you would have one symbol for each openings instead of two and just activate which one you want as active. Then, when you reverse, it would switch to the alternate hinging and code if applicable. This way, plans have the opening on the proper side and Softlist would have the proper code."
