Linked Floors
SoftPlan Version:
2014 Plus

I do not seem to have any luck using the Linked Floors command ?

I have both my Foundation & Main Floor Drawings in the Model and stacked correctly, I have my reference points on both drawings in the same

location, I select Move, to move the wall, then I click the Link Floor Button, thenmake the move either by moving or by editing the dimension,

then when I look at the drawing above or below ( whichever the case may be ) the wall directly above or below the one I moved has not moved

as a linked wall ?   Am I missing something ?

Link Floors

Just a couple things Jim. The Link Floors button will toggle off by itself if you switch drawings or select another command. So make sure that Link Floors is actually highlighted when you are moving the wall.

Whenever I use Link Floors I always first turn on Overlay so that I can be sure that the walls remain lined up the way I want them to.

Trouble Linking Floors

I guess I am having the same issue that Jim was having. I have tried several times to Extend a wall into the "second" floor of my drawing/plan. the link floor button is highlighted but it still pushes everything up an equal distance. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Ryan

Link Floor

Hello Yogi. Link Floors allows you to move a wall on one floor and the same wall on the floor above or below will be moved as well.

What exactly are you trying to do? Can you provide a screen shot of what the problem is? Otherwise it is sort of like saying "I can't get walls to work right. What am I doing wrong?" A little more information is needed smiley

I am trying to get my fireplace to tuck into the ceiling, currently the item that you see in the corner of the structure is a 3D polygon, but I have not figured out a way to make it fit into the ceiling. I was trying with the walls earlier to make it work into my design.

You can see the picture here on my company website of what I am trying to do. http://www.traditionoutdoorliving.com/

Does this help?

Thanks,

Ryan

Fit to Ceiling or Roof

You can get the wall to do that using Fit to Roof, or if you have a ceiling installed you could also try Fit to Ceiling. Just edit the wall and you will see the buttons to make the wall fit to the roof or ceiling.

I am aware of the fit to roof

I am aware of the fit to roof function, problem is each time I try to use fit to roof, it pushes up everything on my second floor. I had the link floors button selected when I tried to do it. Please advise.
