How to: See Roof truss rafter tails in 3d
SoftPlan Version:
2016 Plus

I work with exposed rafter tails, and would like to see the tails in my 3d model.  I tried creating an auto stick frame, and it shows on the drawing but I can't find how to have it visible in 3d.

Also Is there a way to set a drawing style (not manually) for the roof to use plain gable corners, and not use closed soffits.

At this time every time I change a roof or create a new drawing I have to manually change the roof from Bird box, to plain gable corners, then change the soffits to off.

Thanks for any help.

Bryan.

Exposed Rafter tails in 3D

Hello Bryan, the way i do it is. Roof Mode- Roof Options- Subfascia Depth- 0" or 1 1/2" as Drip Edge- Generate Roof- Click on roof- Uncheck Soffit- Auto Stick frame- make corrections as necessary- Go into 3D- Extraction Options- Check Roof Framing- Right click fascia- Surface edit (Roof/Fascia)- Check Display Texture- Options- change Opacity to 0.

Hope this helps
