Divide Segments

Do the little + marks that are left when I use Divide Segments print ?  In other words do I have to worry about erasing them ?

Hey Jim. No, the Construction Points that are added to the drawing when you use Divide Segments do not print. You can leave them or delete them if you wish. The easiest way to delete them if you have several of them is to select Erase-->Type Erase and check Construction Points. That will get rid of all of them without having to go through and select them all individually.

Hey, thanks Bill, I never would have thought that the Constuction Points would have had their own place in Type Erase ;-)

Erase group selection

Jim, a quicker way is to right click on one of the consrtuction points.  The bottom of the menu that comes up shows 'Add Group Selection'.  If you click on this and then type the letter 'e' (for keyboard shortcut 'erase'), then all of your constructions points will be erased.

Quick Erase

Nice tip John.   I presume the Add Group command could be used for numerous actions other than just

Delete. Do you use this for other stuff and if so do you have any examples of what we could do with it ?

P.S. How's things over in Arthur, your snow piles getting any smaller yet ;-)

Thanks

Add Group Selection/Add Type Selection

I use the 'add group selection' or 'add type selection all the time'.  Its really great when you have a number of exterior columns on the main floor plan and you want to change them all at the same time to either a different style or to edit the column footings....etc. etc.  It also works for windows to add trim, shutters, grills etc.  It is proabaly one of my favourite tools.
