Creating a 3D model with a truss roof
SoftPlan Version:
2014

Is there any way to create a roof using the 'truss set' command - and have it show up on the 3D model?  I am working on some as-builts for a home that has a very complex truss roof.  Fortunately, I have the set of plans which shows the current roof plan - but I'm trying to draw it in Softplan - but can't figure out how to get it to show up in the 3D model.  It seems to me that when I use the 'truss set' command - it's really only setting me up to create a generated roof plan in Softplan - but not useful for a model.  Am I missing something?

Please help....

Thanks!!!

RE: 3D model with truss roof

Hi Bill,

I checked and the roof framing box was not checked under extraction options - but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. (?) Any other thoughts?

So what exactly do you see in 3D? How about a screen shot or even better attach the project so someone can take a look.

Assuming that you have the trusses in the plan, they are set to extract in 3D, the drawing with the trusses is in the model, and the texture for the trusses is not turned off then they should be visible. I am also assuming you have the materials for the shingles and roof sheathing turned off so you can see through them.
