This question is about a post from 2-3-13 on Borders, regarding Bill Wimberlys Border. I could not read the small print on the border , but my question was about the revision schedules listed in the title section. Bill, do you use the schedule information in revision notes to populate the field in your border about revisions? would it be possible for you to post a larger picture, because I had some questions about your Border. Really liked your layout, but couldnt make out small print.

thanks  l-kelseysmiley

Hey Larry. You'll have to provide a link to the post you are referring to so I can see which border you are talking about. As it turns out, on 2-3-13 I was trying to correct a problem with the database that stores all the information on this site and a whole bunch of stuff ended up being associated with that date.

But if you are talking about what I think you are talking about I was experimenting at one time with putting revision schedules on my borders. But I finally decided it was taking up too much room so I got rid of it.

thanks for the quick response, It was 10-8-2012.  Couldnt quite read small print. Didnt know if you were using revision notes from softplan to populate title border. I was just trying to figure out a new title border, but not sure what would be the best format. That article caught my eye, and was not trying to copy but trying to get a feel if revision notes might be useful in title block. your thoughts would be appreciated. Another 2 or 3 questions , glad to get input from anybody. If your doing a custom design for a builders customer, do you include builders name on print. And if you draw prints for builders, is the design for one time only . Most architectural groups, e.g. frank betz etc chg more if print is used more than once. I realize different people might have different appoaches, just curious what designers thoughts were on this. Thanks again for everybody's input

I was using No-Print notes. I had populated the border with no-print notes and then when a revision was printed I would change the note to a detail note and enter the current date. I would remove the cloud from the previous date and put it on the current date. The idea was to show each date that a revision was released. But I decided to abandon that and just use a date stamp to automatically put the current date on the printouts.

Yes, I do include the builder's name and even their logo if they provide one.

Below is my current setup. The first image shows the drawing and the second shows how it looks when in a Plan Set or printed.
