Adding stone to SP
SoftPlan Version:
2014 Plus

Quite a few years ago I went to a Softview class in Houston and it seems the instructor told us you could import drawings as bitmaps to make your own stone for example.  Am I remembering correctly?  I have not found a stone in SP that looks like what we call Austin Limestone and would like to attempt this.

Try this one. This is what I use for Austin Limestone.

Stone Textures

By the way, I lifted that texture from the Coronado Stone website awhile back.

Click on the Technical Downloads section on the left. Select "Seamless Stone Textures". Download all you want.

Worked perfectly Bill, thanks and thanks for the Coronado site.  I think we have inquired there in the past.

I am new here and to softplan

I am new here and to softplan. I have used autocad for 20 years. I finally made the jump to softplan back in the fall. I am curious if you can tell me how to import this or these stone patterns into softplan to use as a wall material. Thanks for the help!

Textures

Hey Jeremy and welcome to SoftPlanTuts!

Place your texture images in a folder within C:\SoftPlan2014\3D\Textures\Bitmaps. Then you can use them just like any of the textures that come with SoftPlan.

I am trying to add this as a wainscoat to a wall. I have the wall created but the stone for my wainscoat doesnt look like the austin stone. How do I get my wainscoat to look like the austin stone in the wall I have already created?

I am reading the giant book

I am reading the giant book that came with the software, google-ing, and button pushing. I figured it out. I had to increase the scale quite a bit but it looks good. Thanks for the help!

Reminder

When uploading bitmaps, remember to verify they are "tiled" to insure they appear seamlessly and natural on your drawings and renderings.
