2 story FLOORS WONT CONNECT
SoftPlan Version:
2014 Plus

Hi guys this will be my first post on here, i have found it difficult to find answers to specific questions on websites and searches etc. so in my experience that is when you turn to a forum!

I have already made a couple 2 story plans and when i linked the floors it stacked them in the model just fine.  However this time around the top floor is floating about a ft. to 2 ft. above the bottom floor.  Any ideas on how to fix this? i tried raising the bottom floor walls and ceilings and that didnt do it.  It may just be a simple fix but i cannot figure it out.  Any help would be appreciated!

Round Reference Point

Hello Matthew. You need to use the Circle reference point to align the floors. Please see the tutorial Proper Use of Reference Points for an explanation how to use it.

reference

Yes sir thank you for replying! i have used the reference points to align the floors and they are perfectly aligned. however in the 3D model the one floor will not attach to the other.  its like it has an automatic 2 foot buffer between the floors

Round Reference Point

Do you know why Bill in previous versions, the round reference point was separated from the other reference points by an underline because of it's special status? Now, it's not. I had a bit of problem last week stacking 2 floors and that's when I noticed this and although I managed to get things to work, I wasn't sure if it lost some of it's properties?

Reference Points

Nothing has changed in how reference points work. As far as why the line under the circle reference point was removed I don't have a clue. The interface gets tweaked a little with each new version. The line was removed when the interface got a major makeover for version 2012.

thank you!

i was not aware until reading what you posted that the circle reference point also effected elevations, the floors were lined up but i had the reference points just floating out in space, so because they weren't on an actual wall they did not know where to sit.  very good and thanks again!
