Unreported Quanity
SoftPlan Version:
2018

Bill, I get an Unreported Quantity using a New Formula that I copied from the Wall Plate Formula using the Standard Complete Material List. It is listed as a Wall Plate 1x4. When I use the Standard Detail Material List that was copied over from 2016 it works great. How do I correct this for the Standard Complete Material List?

I have attached 3 screen shots.

Thanks

Rick

Formula

Hey Rick, I would need to see the formula to be able to know what to do.

Bill is the owner and maintainer of SoftPlanTuts.com

Formula

Here it is. Walls that are 8' and 9' have one brace in the center of the wall and 10' and above have 2 braces equally spaced. I have 2 wall definitions for each wall 9' which has 1 brace and 10' walls have 2 braces in them.

Modify formula

Try removing everything from the custom formula except lines 2 and 3 and see if that gets you what you are wanting.

Same Results. I sent another screen shot of the modified formula.

Thanks for your help Bill

Lines 2 & 3

You don't need the If and end if lines. The bracing is not dependent on whether or not the plate is pressure treated or not. Try removing line 1 and line 4 and just leave lines 2 and 3.

I tried that just before I read your post. I got a Wall Plate Formula Error when I removed the If and endif

Brain Fog

I'm having a brain fog day...too many projects going at once. Can you please explain in a little more detail what it is you are trying to do and what is going wrong?

Brain Fog

When I run a Material List (Standard-Complete) it counts the bracing but as a Wall Plate not Wall Bracing as it should. If you look at the first post I have a screen shot of how it counts. When I run a Report (Standard Detailed) updated from 2016 it counts the material as Wall Bracing. I was just trying to figure out why its doesn't count right when I run it using the (Standard-Complete), because when I run any of the other Reports I will probably have the same problem.

I hope this explanation helps

Material Name

The name that shows in the report would be defined in the Material Name field in the formula. Check your formulas in Standard Complete and make sure that the formula is named correctly. You can easily get to the formula by right clicking it in the report and select "Edit Material".

Bill, I have attached the Test Project for you to look at for both the Dimension and Softlist problem when you get a chance.

Thanks again for all of your help

Lumber tables

Check your lumber tables and make sure that you have a formula constant named "pine". If not then you would need to create a Pine table or use a constant from an existing table.

Lumber Tables

Ok, after looking at your project I see the problem.

The formula for Wall Plate looks for walls that contain either Plate A or Plate B. As a result it is reporting your walls with the bracing (Plate B) as a Wall Plate. Edit the Wall Plate formula and remove the Plate B from the selections.

Your Wall Bracing formula references a lumber table with a Formula Constant of "pine". You will need to either change the word pine in your formula to a constant that exists in one of the available lumber tables or you will need to create a new lumber table with a Formula Constant "pine". Or if you already have a lumber table for pine in 2016 just copy it over to 2018. Whatever lumber table you use you will need to make sure that it includes material for 1x4x16'.

I think I checked all of my walls so that they have either Plate A for the 2 top Plates and a bottom plate for a crawl space and p-treated for the bottom on a slab and Plate B as my Wall Bracing. The formula worked great in 2016, but with the Dimension Problem I'll probably create a formula for the bracing and remove the Plate B(Wall Bracing)form all of my Wall Definitions.

Thanks Bill
