Internal or External Price Tables

SoftList can access either its internal pricing tables, an external price table such as an Excel spreadsheet or Access database, or any combination of both internal and external price tables.

Which do you prefer, and why? How often do you update your price tables? Where do you get your data?

We get our information from a couple of different venders so it is nice to be able to import different tables.  My problem is trying to get everything in sync between the format and layout that they send me and what I can get into Soflist.  Export to Timberlake as a pricing list tends to be my major problem.

Tom, I am currently writing a tutorial series on importing and exporting external price tables. When you get your information from your vendors what format is it in? Spreadsheet? CSV? Something else?

I don't have Timberlake so I can't address it specifically but I have SoftList set up to export to QuickBooks Estimates so the process should be similar.

It may take a week or two to get everything written up but keep an eye out for it.
